Farm walk... and a little help.

Finally...
An invitation to the farm!

Warning, there are strings attached - we're going to put you to work! (Entirely optional of course).

We would like to invite you to visit the farm. We will go for a walk around the field and you'll see what we're growing and how our organic systems work. See the crops, the new agroforestry systems, the tools, the machines, meet the sheep and the chickens. You'll see birds and insects, you might see a hare if you're lucky, perhaps a red kite and you'll hear skylarks. Of course, you will also get to ask questions.
You will certainly get tea, coffee and biscuits/cake, maybe more

The catch?
We need some help.
We have 1 acre of potatoes which all need harvesting. Dad and I have been doing this every Monday for the last 10 weeks for the new potatoes you've had in your box this summer.
Now the plants have been topped and the skins will set over the next 2 weeks.
Once this has happened the potatoes are no longer 'new' and the potatoes can be harvested as one bulk load and stored in our cold store.
This is where you come in...
we estimate we need to fill 200 crates in the field. We will dig them with the potato digger behind the tractor and we need you to help us pick them up into crates.

10:00 Arrival
10:30 Farm walk - 1 hour
11:30 Tea and Coffee
12:00 Potato harvest - 1 hour

13:00 Lunch - 1 hour

14:00 Potato harvest - 1 hour
15:00 Home time with a free bag of potatoes that you harvested!
